Ruth Goodman
Ruth Miller Goodman of Livingston died Jan. 31, 2020. Born and raised in New Canaan, Conn., she resided in Livingston for the past 62 years.
Mrs. Goodman served as a reading/language arts specialist for 37 years for the Newark school system. In addition, she also scored the College Board SAT essays until the age of 93. She was a member of the International Reading Association.
She earned B.A. and M.A. degrees from Kean University.
She enjoyed taking daily one-and-a-half-mile walks at Grover Cleveland Park.
Predeceased by her husband, Daniel, she is survived by two sons, Robert (Anna Karina) and Harold (John Jansen); three daughters, Karen (Jonathan) Lautman, Susan (David) Teicher, and Nancy (Girard Healy); and five grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 1 with arrangements by Collins Funeral Home, Norwalk, Conn. Memorial contributions may be made to Grover Cleveland Park Conservancy, Essex Fells.
