On April 9, Congregation Israel of Springfield hosted its 49th annual gala dinner at the Crystal Plaza in Livingston. Members and friends joined for an evening of achdut/unity, recognizing this year’s honorees and celebrating the close-knit community. The evening included a photo booth, an interactive program, and a video created to showcase CIS’s support of Israel in the wake of October 7.

Guests of honor Miriam and Josh Stern earned the Rabbi Israel E. Turner Memorial award in recognition of their contributions to the shul. Ariella and Eric Bloom received the Young Leadership award, and Miryam Smilow was honored with the Aishet Chayil award. Gabe Nadel received the Edward Konigsberg Memorial award, and Noa Bitansky was given the Joseph Tammam Memorial Youth Community Service Scholarship award.
