Max Weinberg, the drummer for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, is donating a week's stay at his private Tuscan villa to an upcoming fundraising auction for Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel in South Orange.

Weinberg, who became a bar mitzvah at the synagogue in 1964, will be attending the temple's June 21 fundraising event, “Magic in the Night,” to serve as guest auctioneer for the live auction, Backstreets, the Springsteen fan site, reported.

Weinberg and his wife Becky are honoring their parents, Ruth and Bert Weinberg and Jean and Dale Shick, and Max's grandparents, Max and Celia Mindlin, who were founding members of Temple Sharey Tefilo when it was in East Orange.

The fundraiser will include pre-auction bidding online, with the highest online bid will serve as the opening bid at the live auction on site. The event is open to the public; fans who are interested in attending the event or bidding remotely can contact Leslie Sporn via email at lsporn@tstinj.org to obtain tickets or arrange proxy voting.

Weinberg is also Conan O’Brien’s bandleader.
