Temple Shalom in Succasunna held an interfaith vigil in support of Israel with clergy, local and state government officials, and community members of all faiths.

Rabbi Inna Serebro-Litvak of Temple Shalom coordinated the program. She told the crowd: “While Israelis fight the terrorism on the ground with weapons, we need to fight terrorism here with our words.”

Morris County Commissioner Director John Krickus added, “Morris County stands with you and Morris County stands with Israel.”

Tayfun Selen, Morris County Commissioner and former Chatham Township mayor, who immigrated to the United States from Turkey, said, “This is not about Israel against Arabs, this is not about Jews against Muslim, this is about good against evil.  And we are on the side of good and we must always be on the side of good.”

Rabbi Serebro-Litvak thanked the Roxbury Police Department for providing ongoing protection and security. She also thanked all the attendees, who brought support and comfort to the synagogue members and Jewish community at large.

Benjamin Mann from the Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest and Rabbi Moshe Rudin from Congregation Adath Shalom in Morris Plains also spoke.
