One of Irmari Nacht’s works with recycled books has been accepted into “Ink, Press, Repeat: National Juried Printmaking and Book Art Exhibition,” a show at William Paterson University in Wayne. The exhibit is on display through March 24; the opening reception will be on Wednesday, February 22, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Three of her books will be shown at the Carter Burden Gallery in Chelsea from February 16 to March 15, with an opening reception on Thursday, February 16 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Ms. Nacht, who has lived in Englewood for 55 years, has had many shows at the Kaplen JCC on the Palisades in Tenafly and at the Jewish Home Assisted Living in River Vale. She uses books that otherwise might be discarded and transforms them into art. They become the raw material out of which she forms sculptures that are cut into slices and slivers that curl, undulate, and return to the tree-like shape from which the paper was made.
