Congregation Israel of Springfield’s leaders and congregants donated, packed, and delivered more than 100 mishloach manot – gifts of edible Purim treats — to Holocaust survivors and to Tomchei Shabbos recipients. (Tomchei Shabbos is the Jewish Family Service of Central NJ’s Shabbat package program). Eighteen families from Congregation Israel volunteered for the mitzvah, spearheaded by Rivka and Seth Huttel. Purim joy also included visiting and entertaining the residents of Daughters of Israel Nursing Facility in West Orange.
