Ten years after Bris Avrohom opened a Jewish information stand at Newark Liberty Airport’s Terminal B, it is inaugurating a similar stand at Terminal A. There, participants can put on tefillin, find Shabbat candles, get a copy of Tefillat Haderech (the traveler’s prayer) and read Jewish literature in many languages. To date, thousands of people have put on tefillin throughout the terminals, many of them for the first time.

In addition, ELAL staff celebrate the Jewish holiday,s throughout the year with Rabbi Avremy Kanelsky, who runs the activities at the airport.

Fabuwood Cabinetry Corporation donated the stand, and two representatives of the company attended the inaugural program, which was arranged by Rabbi Avremy and Chaya Kanelsky.

Other guests included Sarah McKeon, general manager of New Jersey airports, and Stefan Fornasier, COO of Terminal A.

Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky thanked the Port Authority for partnering with Bris Avrohom, not just with the information stand, but also with the menorah lightings on Chanukah, which happen all around New Jersey. Ms. McKeon also spoke, thanking Bris Avrohom for the opportunity to assist travelers at both terminals. Food was sponsored by Fresco, the leading distributor of kosher food at the airport.
