Chabad of West Orange celebrates new shul furnishings
CHABAD OF West Orange will celebrate the installation of its new aron kodesh, bima, cantor’s podium, and ner tamid on Tuesday, Aug. 15, at 8 p.m.
The custom-made furnishings were crafted in Israel at Kibbutz Lavi and arrived at Chabad on July 17. The ark was installed and ready to use on Shabbat Mevarchim Menachem Av, July 21-22.
Jed Katz — who is dedicating the aron in memory of his grandparents, Joseph and Ruth Katz, and in honor of Rabbi Moshe Herson, dean of the Rabbinical College of America — said, about the new ark, “Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. I am so proud of what we have done here.”
Marsha and Marvin Frank are dedicating the bima in honor of their 57th wedding anniversary. “Thank you for helping to make this day so meaningful,” said Marsha. “It pleases us so much to be a part of it.”
The ner tamid is being dedicated by Marcia and Elihu Feldman in honor of Bernard and Natalie Weiss.
Refreshments will be served; RSVP to rsvp@chabadwestorange.com. For information, call 973-325-6311 or visit chabadwestorange.com.
