Chabad program raises awareness of the hostages in Israel
Community members, hosted by the Chabad Center for Jewish Life in Randolph, gathered to open its new Freedom Garden there on July 7. The program aimed to raise awareness for the hostages in Gaza, marking nine months of captivity, and to foster unity through prayer and song.
It featured a unique ribbon-shaped arrangement of the hostage signs, symbolizing hope and solidarity for them. Participants joined together to sing in unity outside, forming a circle around the signs. A bench was also installed for visitors who wish to spend a moment to reflect, or say a prayer, including psalms.
Joel Katz, who envisioned the Freedom Garden, said, “Chabad Center for Jewish Life has created this Freedom Garden to honor the 121 hostages still being held in Gaza for over 9 months. It is also here to teach and show our neighbors and friends traveling up and down Hanover Avenue every day, who they are.”
The Freedom Garden program showcased the community’s dedication to raising awareness and providing a place of peace and prayer for all. The organizers extended their thanks to those who participated and supported the meaningful program.
