This summer, more than 500 blind or visually impaired children from throughout Israel will gather on the campus of Beit Chinuch Ivrim-Jerusalem Institute for the Blind. Many will be there to use the 20-acre campus as a base for some of the most unique summer camps known to the world and spectrum of blindness:

• A one-week all-sports camp for blind children will include judo and floor ball, tandem biking and tandem kayaking with regular-sighted partners, and more

• A one-week unique social integration program will teach basic skills to needy blind children.

• A month-long music camp for talented visually impaired children will include the production of our own school music CD.

The American office of Beit Chinuch Ivrim is located in Hackensack; a new board of directors, including supporters from New Jersey, will be announced shortly. If you’re in Jerusalem this summer, schedule a visit that’s sure to be inspiring.
