JFSCNJ/Alzheimer’s NJ offer caregiver support

Jewish Family Service of Central NJ joins Alzheimer’s New Jersey for a free monthly online Alzheimer’s/dementia caregiver support group. Bonnie Freirich, LCSW, JFSCNJ’s director of dementia programs, will lead the group, which will meet Wednesdays, April 19, May 10, and June 14, at 1 p.m. It’s free, open to community Alzheimer’s/dementia caregivers, and run in accordance with the Alzheimer’s NJ guidelines. Participants can join by Zoom or telephone. The support group is not appropriate for people with diagnosed with dementia; it’s for their caregivers.

Ms. Freirich oversees the Coffee House day program for people who have memory loss; that group meets Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Temple Sholom in Scotch Plains.

Participants are welcome to join the group at any time but have to get in touch with Ms. Freirich first to get the Zoom link. For more information about the services and programs offered through JFSCNJ for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia disorders, email Ms. Freirich at bfreirich@jfscentralnj.org or call (908) 352-8375.
