Leisers will be honored at Sons of Israel gala
Sandy and Ron Leiser, now retired from their family business, the Ivy League Day Camp and Pre-School, will be the honorees at “Follow the Sun,” Congregation Sons of Israel’s gala dinner-dance, on Sunday, May 22, at 5 p.m. at the camp in Manalapan.
The Leisers moved to Manalapan in 1973 and purchased the Ivy League Day Camp-Holiday Swim and Tennis Club in 1982. Ron ran the facility full time, with Sandy as adviser and coordinator of the Ivy League Teen Travel program.
Their sons Jonathan and Evan are now owners of the camp and preschool.
The Leisers have been generous donors to the community. They opened their doors to Sons of Israel and other religious institutions to host events and have donated lifetime camp scholarships to children who lost parents on 9/11.
“We are thrilled to be given this wonderful honor,” the Leisers said. “We have been members of the synagogue for over 40 years. It is like a second home and family to us, sharing in all of our life-cycle events.”
The event will feature a buffet dinner, open bar, and live entertainment. The winner of the Follow the Sun raffle will receive a travel voucher valued at $10,000. Ticket prices are $100; proceeds will benefit Congregation Sons of Israel. To place a journal ad or purchase tickets, contact 732-446-3000 or visit sonsofisrael.com.
