Livingston to celebrate Israel’s 75th birthday

The Livingston Celebrates Israel Committee, a subsection of the Livingston Committee for Diversity and Inclusion, is hosting “Am Yisrael Chai, Stronger Together at 75!” The party, set for Wednesday, April 26, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., is in honor of Israel’s 75th birthday. It aims to unite synagogues, Jewish organizations, and the community at large to celebrate with music, dancing, and crafts. Kosher food will be for sale. The party will culminate as the Israeli flag is raised and the community sings Hatikvah.

The program is at the Livingston Senior and Community Center, 204 Hillside Ave. The town of Livingston also will honor Israel by raising the Israeli flag on Sunday, April 23, in front of Town Hall, 357 South Livingston Ave., at 5 p.m.

Amanda Jones, a local mother, attorney and commercial real estate agent who founded a non-profit organization, Jewish Mothers and Children, in 2016 to bring Jewish mothers together for education, celebration, and support of Israel, is the program chair.
