On November 13, 44 members of the ACES (Adults Connecting, Experiencing, Socializing) group from Congregation B’nai Israel in Millburn gathered for a presentation with Ellen Zimiles, owner of Maplewood’s Words Bookstore. Ms. Zimiles talked about how she and her husband changed their legal careers to oversee the quality of life of their challenged child.
CBI of Millburn received a grant from the Teresa Grotta Fund for Older Adults of the Jewish Community Foundation of the Greater Metrowest for the ACES program for members 65+. The shul’s grant was given to be used for senior programming.
Upcoming ACES plans include a trip to Congregation Ahavas Shalom, the last remaining synagogue in Newark, and a Jewish-themed film on January 4.
