Rabbi Meirav Kallush
Rabbi Meirav Kallush

Rabbi Meirav Kallush of South Orange, who is the Lower School rabbi-in-residence at Golda Och Academy in West Orange and its director of Israel education, is among 80-plus fellows chosen for the M²:  Institute for Experiential Jewish Education. Rabbi Kallush is in M² Class of 2025’s Senior Educators Cohort, with 35 fellows, funded by the Maimonides Fund.

M² is a nonprofit; its goal is to empower educators and organizations to create impactful Jewish experiences. Fellows from across the globe will participate in four programs, including professional development initiatives for senior educators and educators in Israel as well as research fellowships exploring Jewish prayer and peoplehood. The fellows join M²’s network of more than 2,500 educators from more than 20 countries and 570 organizations. Educators facing rising antisemitism and navigating the ongoing impact of war will participate in innovative M² programs, which will train them in the art of experiential Jewish education.

Rabbi Kallush brings her knowledge of Israel and Jewish experience into Golda Och’s day-to-day experiences. Working closely with leadership and staff, she supervised the integration of Israel education at Golda Och Academy, supports the informal education and student life experiential education through mentoring both senior staff and young emissaries from Israel. She provides professional and pastoral care for staff and students through major life decisions as well as develops new and innovative ways to share her love of Judaism.

The fellows come from countries including the U.S., U.K., Israel, France, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Germany, Spain, Serbia, and Bulgaria. Participants include educators, academic researchers, creatives, rabbis, and organizational leaders representing a broad range of organizations, including the Jewish Federation of North America, the Orthodox Union, Hillel, BBYO, the World Zionist Organization, the Hartman Institute, Moishe House, Limmud, and the National Library of Israel.
