Orthodox Union Women’s Initiative Inaugural Leadership Summit
The Orthodox Union Women’s Initiative hosted on May 20-21 its inaugural Leadership Summit, a conference designed to encourage and develop women serving as lay leaders within their communities. The 100 participants were nominated by 56 communities around the United States, Canada, Israel, the United Kingdom, and South Africa.
“The goals of the program were to nurture lay leadership, enhance leadership skills, and create a collaborative space,” said founding director of the OU Women’s Initiative Dr. Adina Shmidman.
A delegation of women from Edison, Highland Park, Elizabeth, Livingston, and West Orange attended the event. They included Marla Rottenstreich of Edison, Amanda Abbou of Elizabeth, Chani Miller of Highland Park, Tova Renna of Highland Park, Faygie Holt and Jennifer Romanoff of Livingston, and Alisha Blugrind of West Orange.
