Rabbis Yosef and Mendy Carlebach attend U.N. conference
Father and son, Rabbi Yosef Carlebach and Rabbi Mendy Carlebach, were among those at the United Nations on September 30 to commemorate the attacks on October 7, 2023. Danny Danon, Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, and Mike Waltz, U.S. ambassador to the U.N., were there. So was Jonathan Burkan, a New York-based executive and honorary chairman of the Israel Heritage Foundation who was appointed to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council by President Trump. He put on tefillin at the commemoration.
Rabbi Yosef Carlebach is the Chabad shaliach to 10 Chabad houses and the executive director and founding rabbi at Rutgers Chabad House.
Rabbi Mendy Carlebach, the administrator at Rutgers Chabad, holds many other positions; he is also director of Chabad of North and South Brunswick, chaplain of the Port Authority Police Department, and a member of NJ Homeland Security Interfaith Advisory Council: Member of NJ – Israel Commission.
