Sinai Schools art show celebrates students’ creations
Sinai Schools students and their families celebrated their creative accomplishments at Sinai’s student art show, Unique Inspirations, on May 19, at Congregation Beth Abraham in Bergenfield.
A highlight of Sinai’s academic year since 2014, the show, sponsored by Bear Givers, features the work that students created through the Paley-Mironov art therapy program and is an opportunity for students, families, and community members to come together in person and celebrate the students’ artwork.
Art is a tool that helps many Sinai students communicate, making the messages on many of their canvases both meaningful and inspiring. “Art therapy helps our students manage their emotions, fostering self-awareness and self-worth,” art therapist Sarah Tarzik said. “Engaging in art activities and using their creativity helps our students boost their confidence, connect with others, and make them feel more resilient, while decreasing their stress and anxiety.”
The show in Bergenfield featured artwork by students in Sinai’s New Jersey schools; other shows featured work by students at the Irving Montak Sinai School at the SAR Academy in Riverdale and Sinai at the Yeshiva of Central Queens.
The students’ artwork is posted online; the art, printed on canvas, mugs, mousepads, and greeting cards, is for sale. Go to www.sinaischools.org/2024-sinai-art-shows/. All proceeds support Sinai’s Paley-Mironov art therapy program.
