UJC MetroWest wins passel of ad awards

The in-house Marketing & Communications Department of United Jewish Communities of MetroWest NJ garnered eight awards — including first-place and best-in-category honors — at the New Jersey Advertising Club’s 42nd Annual Jersey Awards Dinner, held June 2 at the Chart House in Weehawken.

The competition includes top professionals in the advertising and marketing industry throughout New Jersey.

The awards, which recognize creativity, excellence, and ingenuity in the conception and execution of advertising and marketing, cited UJC MetroWest NJ chief marketing officer Shelley Labiner of Montclair, art director Melissa Simon of Short Hills, copywriter Mark Cohen of Basking Ridge, graphic designer Mark Berkley of Maplewood, and account managers Robert Bogart of Rockaway and Lauren Saltus of Randolph.

The awards won by the department are Best of Newspaper Advertising for its 10-month advertising campaign “Leave Behind”; first place, Newspaper Advertising Campaign: “Leave Behind”; second place, Direct Mail Package, less than four-color: direct-mail brochure “This is the Moment”; third place, Logo and/or Trademark: Super Sunday logo; third place, Annual Report-Non-Profit Color: 2009 Report to the Community; third place, E-mail Blast: Young Leadership Division event: “We Bring the Bar, You Bring the Mitzvah”; third place, Invitation/Announcement: Spring Fling 2009; and Third Place, Invitation/Announcement: Women’s Awareness Day 2009.

“It is very exciting to have such an innovative, creative team regularly produce such outstanding work,” said UJC MetroWest NJ executive vice president Max L. Kleinman. “They continue to set new standards of excellence as is evidenced by winning these prestigious awards…. Their creative talents inspire everyone at UJC MetroWest and represent us so well throughout our community.”
