What the French Think About Our Politics

A friend and colleague from McGill brought to my attention a recent description in Le Monde after the Iowa caucus results concerning the French reporting and commentary on the state of American politics. Aside from its non-too-flattering descriptions of the candidates themselves and especially the influence of some their religious feelings on their politics, there were two other observations. They have no mention of Huntsman at all—as if he does not exist–and Le Monde can’t help itself but to dwell on the candidates’ positions on Israel and the Palestinians.
