AJC Central NJ to celebrate 75 years

THROUGHOUT ITS 75-YEAR history, American Jewish Committee (AJC) Central New Jersey has worked to build bridges, fight anti-Semitism, and eliminate discrimination. On Thursday, Oct. 24, AJC Central New Jersey will celebrate their 75th anniversary with a gala dinner at Congregation B’nai Tikvah in North Brunswick. AJC Chief Executive Officer David Harris will deliver the keynote address.

AJC is a non-partisan, national organization which dates to 1906, when a group of Jewish leaders met in New York City in response to the pogroms in Kishinev, Russia. In 1944 AJC leaders launched nine regional chapters, including the Trenton chapter, which expanded to become the Central New Jersey Region.

Today, AJC encompasses 22 offices across the United States with 12 overseas posts, and 37 international partnerships. Combating anti-Semitism and eliminating discrimination remains a central focus.
