The maternal grandparents are Karen Kanter of Parsippany and Sidney Kanter of Clifton. The paternal grandparents are Mina and Jim Applebaum of Belpre, Ohio. The paternal great-grandfather is Bob Applebaum of Sarasota, Fla. Samuel Kaden is named in memory of his paternal great-grandmother Sophie Applebaum and his maternal great-grandmother Kate Kanter.
