Prolific performer Sam Glaser to appear in Manalapan
Prolific Jewish music performer and educator Sam Glaser will serve as artist-in-residence and give a Saturday evening concert at Congregation Sons of Israel, Manalapan, Friday-Saturday, Nov. 11-12.
For the past 21 years, Glaser has performed as a cantorial soloist, scholar-in-residence, and guest lecturer. He has appeared on Broadway, at the White House, and on stages from Sydney to London, Hong Kong and Tel Aviv. His 24 albums are best-sellers
Erev Shabbat services on Friday, 4:15-6 p.m.) will be followed by a Shabbat dinner with Glaser presenting “The Life of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach in Story and Song.”
On Shabbat morning, a service highlighting Glaser’s cantorial talents, will begin at 9 a.m., followed by a free luncheon and a presentation, “Hineini: Answering the Call in Troubled Times.”
The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $18, free for children five and under. The Friday dinner also costs $18; reservations are requested by Nov. 3. Call 732-446-3000.
